Welcome to the website of the Durfee Career and Technical Education Department where you will find information about eleven rigorous career pathways that prepare students for post-secondary education and high demand careers. CTE students have opportunities to receive articulated college credit, take dual enrollment classes at BCC, and earn industry certificates or licenses. All CTE programs are open to both young men and women. We encourage all students to consider non-traditional career choices and support them to make these decisions through a program of career counseling.

The Career and Technical Education Department offers four-year, sequential courses of study in a variety of technical areas. Students are able to explore CTE programs through the Grade 9 Durfee Discovery program, rotating through short experiences that introduce students to career opportunities and some of the basic knowledge and skills required in each industry. Admission to a CTE program begins in grade 10 and follows a course sequence that develops each student to graduate meeting industry competencies for safety, technical skills, employability, entrepreneurship, use of technology, and academic performance.
