The Culinary Club is a brand new student driven program to hit Durfee! This unique and tasty club meets in the Tradewinds restaurant kitchen (Room 148) after school Tuesdays or Thursdays twice a month from 2:30-5:00pm.
Members are introduced to the basics of Knife skills, unique ingredients and foods and just having a good time cooking and tasting great dishes. Each meeting students are able to get hands on cooking time whether they are dipping strawberries or making a hearty chicken soup. Newcomers are always welcome as are current culinary arts students.
So far this year the culinary club has been raising money for end of the year activities by dipping gourmet pretzels in yogurt to make healthy fundraising snacks. Upcoming events include cooking demos by top local chefs, tours of local restaurant kitchens, cooking competitions and hopefully a fieldtrip to the culinary arts museum at Johnson & Wales University.
